Happy New Year!!

Believe it or not - we are shooting a wedding today!  Zach & Martha are the bride and groom and I am SO super excited about this one b/c Zach and I are actually new business partners. We are working on a project together that I am excited to share with everyone a little later on when we are a little closer to completion. Hopefully that will be sooner than later.
Anywho, have a wonderful New Years and I can't wait for another great year to share with everyone! :)

Christmas a.k.a WHIRLWIND!

WOW.  I am just starting to feel like a human again!! Reality is slowly but surely seeping back into my brain!! We had the best - but craziest Christmas to date! First, we got home from Canada on the 23rd after having one flight delayed, another flight being rerouted to Indiana when we were supposed to land in Chicago, missing our flight to LA by 5 minutes and then finding out that our bag didn't make it onto the plane!! Whew!!
Then we did Christmas Eve and Christmas day with my fam, drove 6 hours to see Mike fam on the 26th and drove another 6 hours home on the 27th. My brain is fried. But we actually really enjoyed all the time we spent with everyone and I am actually excited to get back into the saddle again!
Do you know what saved me? My Marc Jacobs purse. This thing is amazing because it actually expands! There is an inner zipper that makes it so if you have a ton of stuff to shove in your purse, it's no problem because it gives you a whole extra two inches of room! I LOVE this purse! I had so many little things that needed to be on hand - water bottles, books, a book light, sunglasses, snacks, passports, wallet....etc etc. I heart Marc Jacobs!! This is a quick picture I took with my iphone. (which I love too and I'll devote another whole blog post to it in the future! haha!)

Goodbye Canada!

Well we had a great time here in Canada - and it's true that Canadians are REALLY friendly people!! Everyone at the wedding was pretty much amazed that we came all the way from California to Winnipeg during the winter - but it was SO fun for us! Here is a picture of our room and the view of downtown Winnipeg from our window. The weather here really made our holiday season fun!
We have to catch our plane at 12:33 tomorrow and hopefully there won't be any delays. (cross your fingers!!)

:)

Oh, and this pic I took today while Mike and I were shooting Tracy getting her makeup done. I thought it was a cute picture of us!!

We Love Snow!!

Here is Michael in the Snow!! Wow - this is too much fun. Today we shot an awesome engagement session with Tracy & Michael and it we had a great time (despite the biting cold, of course!!) We cruised around downtown Winnipeg and got a ton of really great shots. We are really excited for the wedding tomorrow - hopefully we'll be able to get outside. It's suppose to snow some more and will be a lot colder than it's been. It's funny 'cause everyone keeps telling us how "warm" it is outside and it's 20 degree's!! Goodness! :)

We made it to CANADA!!

So, we finally made it to Canada! Yay! Here are just some travelog type shots I took with my iphone. The shot through the window is of miles and miles of nothing but plains covered in snow. It was really cool to see in person - not as great with my iphone picture!!  The shot off "Love is The Killer App" on the tray table was taken right after I finished it! I read pretty much the whole thing on the plane and really learned a TON!! I actually bought it awhile ago after hearing David Jay  rave about it - but I only got through the first chapter or so b/c I pre-judged it   - thinking the whole thing would just be tips on how to love people more in business.(which wasn't a very "lovecat" thing for me to do!) Although, "bizlove" is the overall theme it gave me SO many amazing outlooks that I'm definitely going to start implementing in my business! (If you haven't read it you MUST!)
Funny story - so we get to the hotel around 12:15 am and the restaurant and room service are closed. We are starving!! So the front desk lady tells us to walk about a block up the street to this pub that stays open until 4 in the morning. We'll we miss the pub and keep walking up this street in downtown Winnipeg and it wasn't until after we pass a pimp and hooker and have someone ask us to buy drugs that we finally got a cab and went to Burger King! It's it always the first night in new place where you see all the fun stuff!  I'm excited to go shooting now! xo

Sleeping Pills are my Friend...

So, I have been meaning to start waking up early for about 3 months now and finally this is what I did. I took two sleeping pills at 9 o'clock so that I would be really sleepy by 10. I finally went to sleep at 10:30 and my alarm woke me up at 6:30 this morning and I hit is two times -  was officially up by 6:45:) I'm hoping I can keep this up b/c it's such a great feeling to be getting stuff done early and realizing I still have a whole day ahead of me!
It was funny b/c I took the sleeping pills last night and then got in the tub. But I was so sleepy that Michael was freaking out and thought I would fall asleep in the tub so he kept saying, "You better get out of the tub! You better get out of the tub!" He is so funny!! But I love him... :)
BTW - for anyone who has sleep problems, Melatonin is a great product b/c it's the chemical that your body naturally produces to help you sleep. So it's just giving you a little head start by taking it! But just so y'all know - I'm NOT trying to get hooked on sleeping pills, I just need a little help to get in the mode. :)

Two Bands That Will Melt Your Face Off

Hey,  this is Michael wanting to share with you guys two of my favorite bands that will melt your face off.  One of which you probably already know of - Daft Punk.  They just came out with a new live album called, "Alive."  It's so remixed of former stuff it's practically new and will make your head explode out of pure joy.  If you don't know who these guys are you need to pick up their album "Discovery" as well.  Another band that is a different sound in the same genre, which I've dubbed - "electrorock," is Ratatat.  They have two albums, "Classics," and self-titled "Ratatat."  For new listeners I recommend the former.  They're both amazing though.  Yes!

Brrrrr....Canada....Going To Be Cold...!

So, we are leaving for Canada on Wednesday to shoot a wedding! We are super excited to shoot there and to switch it up a little bit. Although, I am concerned about the cold! Here is the weather forecast and it's going to be cold!! I went to NYC during Thanksgiving one year and it was 25 degree's outside and I thought I was going into hypothermia! So it says that on Friday (day before the wedding) there is a chance of flurries. What are flurries!!! :) Hopefully some of my non-california friends can help me out with that one... :)
