American Idol Audition Video # 2 - Fly Me To The Moon
Thanks so much for everyone that posted on the last video. And if you haven't posted yet - please do! I purposely put up an opera song because it's really different from what you normally see at American Idol and so it would definitely be different! But I appreciate the feedback that I got. I think I still might show up with a classical song, but not Nuit Detoille. Here is a video of me singing something NOT classical. It's, "Fly Me To The Moon." Let me know whatcha all think!! Thanks!

I really agree with the comments yesterday and more so after this video. You have an awesome voice. I am not real into Idol but one thing I have heard on there a lot is about "what's right for this competition". Then again they also always recognize when someone is original. So I guess like how you and Michael approach photography... original and creative but mainstream and modern.
your way too talented in too many areas though. Stop it! :)

Hey Anna, this is Bree. Nice work on your songs, they sound great! Do you know any country-type artists?
Matt and I were thinking that you could maybe do a Leann Rimes song (Something's Gotta Give), if you know any of them. She has huge range (like you) and maybe you could find a poppy-type song that shows it off. Other ones we were thinking of:
Martina Mcbride (Independence Day)
Sugarland (Fly Away, Stay)
Trisha Yearwood (anything she does)
With the big push from Carrie Underwood, maybe the right country songs might be a good medium between the classical and pop. We're totally into helping you out so we'll keep watching.

Ok I like this one so much more than the classical song, I felt like you connected more with the camera and had fun with it. I think you should work the whole jazz vibe kind of like a Diana Krall but more contemporary. A jazz song can really show your range because I know what an awesome alto you are. I think whatever you sing you should really try and connect with the judges and enjoy yourself. American Idol is as much about presence and connecting with the viewers as it is talent. What are you going to wear?

Riliegh - Thanks for the comments. I agree that I need to connect even more. I'm going to work on my personality and try to break out of my shell. I'm not sure what I'm going to wear - maybe my stripped dress that gathers??

I thought you were adorable in this one, especially the ending. You have an amazing voice so I don't think you can go wrong with that.. I think AI is all about the song choice and it seems they always lean toward those with a unique sound but can be main stream. I like this song choice for the competition, but the first song was an amazing performance. I don't know how you'll be able to choose!

You are CRAZY talented!!!
The classical one you did is melodically SO difficult, which would be appreciated by the judges, but not the audience as much. Like the second one better for the type competition you are going for.
Please post you singing Summertime. I love you on that one!

I loved both songs but agree that they are looking for a pop kind of performer. I think on the Fly me to the Moon it sounded rushed and a little shallow. You have such depth to your voice and that didn't seem to showcase it like I have heard you in the past. Your voice is truly amazing. Good luck!
Hi Anna! Nothing wrong with sassy, personality is also important in the music biz, image is everything and it can sell. On that note, I sense a little "shy" in your sassy? Does that make sense? I was hoping for more sassy actually. Let loose a bit more! LOL. I think the first video was a little better performance wise. I really just couldn't connect with you through this performance. While it sounded good technically, I think it was missing some spunk and substance. Otherwise, nice & clean performance. You've got a sweet voice though Anna! Lots of potential there. This is fun!
Love it!! This is definitely my favorite of the ones posted so far. It seems to really fit your personality... It's sweet and sassy, and at the same time totally compliments your amazing voice.
And WOW you can hit those high notes!
